I came out at 14. And for years after that, I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognise myself. I spent those years proving I was feminine enough, real enough, acceptable enough to be seen as who I already knew I was. The dysphoria wasn’t just physical. It was the gap between who I was inside and how the world experienced me. And it lived in everything.

So how do you love without leaving yourself behind?

I choose myself again, and again.
